Can you return a personalized pet gift?
Usually not — if you simply changed your mind. A piece engraved, tooled or painted with one specific pet cannot be sold to anyone else, so it cannot be taken back the way a mass-produced item can. But two things are fully protected: you can cancel any time before your QC photos are sent, and if the piece arrives damaged, wrong, or not what you approved, you get a full refund or a free remake within 14 days of delivery.
This page is the long version, because "no returns on custom items" is the single most common complaint in this category and most listings bury it in small print.
What is and is not returnable
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| You changed your mind before QC photos | Full refund, no questions |
| You changed your mind after approving the photos | Not returnable — it was made for you |
| It arrives damaged | Full refund or free remake within 14 days, you keep it |
| It is not what the approved photos showed | Full refund or free remake within 14 days, you keep it |
| Wrong name or spelling that we engraved | Remade free |
| Wrong name or spelling you supplied | Not covered — we check before making, but approval is yours |
| Non-personalized items (cups, clips, belts) | 14-day return, unused, original packaging, you pay return postage |
Why personalized pieces work this way
Two practical reasons, and neither is an excuse:
It cannot be resold. A pendant engraved with someone else's dog has no second buyer. Unlike a wrong-size jumper, there is no shelf for it to go back on.
Return postage costs more than the item. Sending a $35 necklace back from the US to China runs $18–30 and takes three weeks. A refund minus that shipping helps nobody — so the money goes into getting it right the first time instead.
That is why the QC photo exists. It is the moment to catch a mistake — while the piece is still in our hands and can be remade at our cost rather than shipped, returned and argued about.
The 14-day window, precisely
It counts from delivery, not from ordering. Inside it, if the piece is damaged, wrong, or does not match the photos you approved, you choose: full refund, or a free remake. Either way you keep the original — sending a broken keepsake back across the world helps no one.
After 14 days we will still talk to you, but we cannot promise a remake.
The safety valve most shops do not offer
You can cancel any time before the QC photos are sent and get every cent back. That window is days to weeks long, because we are making the piece.
So the real sequence is: order → wait for making → receive photos → decide. You are not locked in the moment you pay. If the work is not right, or the timing no longer suits you, say so at that point and it stops there.
What is not covered
- After you approve the QC photos. That approval is the handover — the piece is yours from then on.
- Details you supplied. Wrong photo, wrong spelling, wrong ring size. We check with you first, but the final yes is yours.
- Normal wear. Leather darkens, brass patinas, silver tarnishes. That is the material behaving as it should, not a fault.
- Small differences from your screen. Steel photographed under studio light shows slightly differently on a phone. Engraving reads lighter at an angle.
- Damage after delivery. A chew, a drop, a washing machine.
How to start one
One message — WhatsApp or email — with your order number and a photo of what arrived. No forms, no portal, no ticket queue. Your approved QC photos and the tracking record are on file, so verification usually takes minutes.
Refunds go back to how you paid: PayPal typically within 24–48 hours of processing, crypto in USDT to the address you give us.
When you should not order from us
- You are not sure which piece you want yet. Ordering to "see how it looks" costs you a refund request and costs us a slot. Message first, we will help you choose.
- You might change your mind about the pet's name or dates. Engraving is permanent. Decide before you order, not after the photos arrive.
- You need it this week. Nothing here is made that fast — see how long a custom memorial takes.
